Here are some the technology advancements of Panasonic's Viera Smart TVs
- Infinite Black Ultra Panel w/new drive scheme, called "Neo Plasma Black 2500" (VT50 only)
- New super video processing chip set, dubbed the "Smart Viera" (GT50 and VT50 series only)
- Built-in web browser w/lots of new Internet applications (see some listed under the photo right)
- New High-efficiency Louver Filter, named "Infinite Black Ultra"
- New Touch Remote, only with the VT30, you actually get two remotes included with VT50 series
- New RF Bluetooth 3D glasses
- Built-in Wi Fi (no more RF external dongle)
- 3D Real Sound (VT50, GT50 and ST50 series only)
- New Integrated Media Player
Panasonic's advanced engineering team has pushed plasma display technology to deliver both a blacker and brighter image. This
new pdp and drive scheme has increased the contrast ratio and therefore
the dynamic range of black to white. The results are that you will
clearly see with finer detail and depth.
Video performance: The new drive technology in the 2012 VIERA Plasmas achieves the equivalent of *24,576 steps of gradation. This enables the display to distinguish even the smallest differences in dark scenes. In addition, the new louver filter blocks external light and an advanced pre-discharge control gives greater expression to depth and texture in dark scenes. The inherent Plasma display advantage of moving picture resolution has also been further improved by the use of 2,500 Focused Field Drive.
This year The GT50 and VT50 series owners will enjoy factory calibrated THX Day and THX Night modes.
Brighter and blacker: All 2012 VIERA Smart TVs boast a breakthrough by creating a smaller ignition spark that yields even deeper and blacker blacks so you clearly see more finely defined shadow areas. Peak luminance has been increased by up to 50, making the image quality of this year's Panasonic VIERA Smart TVs performance better in all ambient light viewing conditions.
Audio performance: Panasonic's 2012 Smart VIERA HDTVs feature a newly developed speaker system, 3D Real Sound with 8 - Train Speakers in VT, GT, ST series of PDP and WT, DT series of LED LCD. This combines with an acoustic field compensation technology that makes movie dialog appear to come directly from the actor’s mouth.
